Enrolling in and going through Word of Life Bible School has been part of a dream come true for me.  For quite some years now, I have felt called to ministry work. I have been blessed over the years to begin stepping I to this calling, a few times over the years, and in different settings. Thankfully, this is also a vision that both my wife and I share, and have partnered together to allow us both to step into the respective ministry fields we each feel called to pursue.  With this goal however, life has continually found “reasons” for it not to work out in our favor.  This included not being able to go to an in-person Bible School out of state, due to family and work restrictions. But instead of allowing this to deter either of us, we both dug in deeper, found new and exciting ways to serve those around us, while also building our family and raising them in the house we are blessed to serve.

This all led up to what felt like divine intervention, when in 2023 Pastor Gary announced that we would be opening a WOL School at Faith Fellowship.  This just felt right.  And although both my wife and I wanted to go, we could not make it work, and it looked like neither of us would be able to go in the first class.  Then an anonymous donation was made, which allowed me to be a part of the innagural class.  And what a huge blessing this school has been not just for me, but for my family as a whole.  Throughout the class, readings, and conversations, I have garnered a deeper understanding of the things if the Lord, the workings of the Holy  Spirit, and the depth of the teachings of Jesus in His time as a man here on earth. And unlike some other “school” settings, this learning environment was fun.  Truly enjoyable and exciting fun.  I would leave class many nights, and could not wait to share with my wife, the highlights of the nights teachings… And these deeper dives into the things of God did not start and stop within the confides of the classroom, but excitingly began well in advance of class, continued after class with late night parking-lot conversations, text messages, emails, phone calls, and even while breaking-bread with family, along with fellow and prospective students of the school.  The new perspectives shared and insights given from the myriad of instructors around the world, also helped refine how I carried myself and the promises of God inside me, how I engaged with my family, church family, and everyone else I have contact with.

My participation with this Bible School not only changed my life for the better, but changed my entire circle as well.  And I can’t wait to see what awaits my family and I as we continue forward in our journey with the Lord.

P.S….  Many may not know this, but I thououghly enjoy a productive reciprocal conversation of the things of the Lord. I blame my father for his argumentative nature of enjoying the antagonizing of others.  Borderline “arguing” about different perspectives, understandings, meanings, and history of Biblical teachings, I find quite fun.  I can’t wait for Aimee to go through the school next year, so that we can have even more passionate conversations about the matter…. Haha

And now… it’s Aimee’s turn… Bring it on….
